The Penn State Small Business Development Center is celebrating three clients selected by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) for their outstanding contributions to entrepreneurship in Pennsylvania.

Penn State’s Office of the Senior Vice President for Research will implement a strategic reorganization, effective July 1, designed to strengthen the University’s ability to drive research commercialization, community-engaged research and statewide economic impact. 

Five women entrepreneurs pitched their businesses during the fourth annual LaunchBox Ladies Pitch Competition at Penn State Lehigh Valley, competing for funding while receiving feedback from a panel of regional business leaders. The annual event highlights Penn State's commitment to supporting entrepreneurship by connecting founders with mentorship, resources and opportunities for growth.

Three businesses will receive support through the Sharon Economic Development Fund.

Entrepreneur Assistance Clinic Director Tom Sharbaugh, a professor of practice at Penn State Dickinson Law and an active member of Penn State’s entrepreneurial community, will retire on June 30.
